Gogu Winery, Metafora Alta, Căușeni, Moldova 2018

Sourced from the Căușeni region of Moldova, this is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră and Saperavi. Black spices over dark cherry, earthy prunes and dried cranberry. Cassis, dark plums and blackberry on the palate, supported by ripe, soft-textured tannins. Ripe and warming on the palate, with a decent line of acidity to refresh, leading to sweet spiced dark fruits, fig and dried herbs on the finish. A wine for red meat.
