Snap this one up if you can – it's proof that rosé can age well, and that the volcanic Azores is one of the most exciting Portuguese regions. Here, 15 low-yielding bush vine varieties are co-planted in a 12ha plot in Pico, and their free-run juice is fermented with wild yeasts. The result is a uniquely saline and mineral wine, with creamy red fruits and mandarin zest. A lovely discovery – and more recent vintages are just as good.
