The Boango vineyards are in the heart of the Douro region, near Nagoselo do Douro, where this wine is produced from a traditional field blend of old and young vines, including Viosinho, Codega de Larinho, Malvasia and Rabigato. Hand-picked and with only 1,956 bottles made, this is full of regional character and great value for money. Ripe and honeyed aromas with notes of russet apple lead  to a characterful palate with preserved lemon, baked apple and pineapple, with a mineral streak and zingy grapefruit acidity that runs through to the finish. Great on its own but also has enough weight for food.
