Most Alvarinho is made to be drunk young and fresh, but this spends eight months in 10 old French barriques, which adds longevity and lots of evolved character. Ripe, honeyed aromatics, with mellow orchard fruits, ripe peach and some honeysuckle notes.The palate is big and generously textured, but with seamless acidity that keeps it fresh, with a crisp, tangy finish. Preserved citrus, russet apple and savoury notes: a lovely match for mushroom risotto.
