Negru de Dragasani is a cross between the Georgian grape Saperavi and the Romanian Negru Vartos. Not as common as the native red Feteasca Neagra, it is worth seeking out if you're looking for an alternative to Malbec. This one has had a third of the fruit matured in new and older oak, and shows wild, tart purple berries, a floral lift and chewy fruit tannins.
