All natural winemaking expresses this marginal place with the fragrance of flowering fynbos, wet crystal and icy lime; it’s textured and fresh, and oh-so very drinkable. This collaboration between Reenen Borman of Boschkloof, fund manager Henk Kotze and baker Fritz Schoon is becoming something of a cult brand. Previously just Chenin, Colombar has now joined the party – and is from the same special site; a 700 metre slate riddled slope just outside Montagu.
