Boekenhoutskloof is a big ticket in the Cape – its Estate Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon sells for four times this price. This new wine is not the same quality, but it offers a taste of winemaker Marc Kent's craft. Vibrant blackcurrant, violet and softer ripe plums from the 15% Merlot, with a green herbal edge and smoky notes from 18 months in old barriques.
