This vivacious, energetic red blend is based on 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months in 50% new oak. On paper, it still reads like a textbook Stellenbosch Bordeaux blend, but in the glass it's full of surprises. With flavours of just-picked blackberry, a hint of tangy tomato and delicate tannins, it's wonderfully refreshing, a rare thing for Bordeaux blends, and feels built for Mediterranean cooking.
