Mount Rozier, The Flower Garden Sauvignon Blanc, 2016

Tasted by: James Button
(at Mary Ward House, London, 08 Mar 2017)
Drinking Window: 2017 - 2018
A refreshingly different style to that found in New Zealand, with a softer character and more stone fruit evident, part of which undoubtedly comes from the five months of lees stirring ('bâtonnage') it undergoes before bottling. It has an apple, citrus and white flower nose, while the palate features peach, elderflower and citrus flavours alongside a zesty acidity.
