Vergelegen, Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot, Stellenbosch, South Africa 2018

Smoky bacon and beef on the nose, wrapped around cherries, figs and cranberry coulis. There’s a touch of rubberiness on the palate alongside sweet cranberry, raspberry, cherry and mulberry fruit. Juicy, tasty finish. It’s softly structured, but still full-bodied and the alcohol is totally in check. A bit of charred wood and vanilla lingers on the finish.
