If you are after a light-hearted and cheerful Tempranillo from a solid Spanish producer, this is a crowd-pleasing pick from the Rioja -based CVNE. It has an overt nose of candied strawberries and rosewater, with a juicy palate of red berries and hints of liquorice. The tannins are soft but the five months of ageing in French and American oak gives this young wine some weight.
