Miguel Angel Alonso and wife Maria José Galera, with help from consultant Raúl Perez, have produced a beautiful wine here from rescued parcels of high-altitude vines - the youngest planted in 1930. It's a blend of Prieto Picudo, Mencía and Alicante Bouschet aged for 12 months in old 500-litre barrels, and is light-bodied yet concentrated, boasting elegant, balsamic red berry fruit, wild florals and herbs and refreshing acidity.
