A vivid example of the changes taking place in Jerez. Williams & Humbert made its name with mainstream brands, notably Dry Sack and Canasta Cream. It also made, and continues to make, large quantities of ‘own brand’ wines for retailers. Like many bodegas in Jerez it was a victim of circumstance with the collapse of its former parent company. Today it is under new ownership, and a Sherry ‘insider’ is releasing to the company its rare Treasure collection of vintage (añada) Sherries which was started in 1919. Also on the market is a 1982 Oloroso from the same collection.
Pedro Ballesteros Torres MW: Gorgeous, complex, yeasty, nutty. Multi-layered, delicate, firm and very, very long.
Sarah Jane Evans MW: Burnished gold hue. Buttery almond and smoky character on nose. Very bold and very concentrated, with a diverse and complex character of vanilla, mocha, kumquat and plenty more. 
Nick Room: Very rich, amber-coloured wine with an evident baked fruit nose and some honey at this stage of maturity. Walnut and mocha palate with soft smoothness showing firm structure. Balancing acidity, well integrated with a lusciousness from the alcohol. Very good harmony on the finish.
