With fine, broody detail, this wine shows the passing of time through a veil of delicate herbal notes and earthy florality. Tobacco leaves, petrichor, prunes and intense fig leaves provide the backdrop for fresh dried cherries and clementine. Produced with fruit from a small vineyard in Rioja Alta, with 40 years of age (at the time of harvest), this shows the character of an 'old school' excellent Rioja vintage, with its trademark focus, drive and elegance to withstand the passing of time. Long tail of coffee and cherry leaves, with a subtle spicy lining.
