Contino, Graciano, Rioja 2016

Grown on a tiny plot in Contino's famous Alavesa vineyard, this is without doubt Rioja's finest expression of Graciano, a wine that is brimming over with pure, beautifully rendered, vividly coloured and flavoured black fruit and hints of kola bean. There's a hint of sappy-crunchiness, but there's a creamy fullness too, while the tannins are polished and ripe.
