Amorany, Brut, Cava, Penedès, Spain NV

Cava is made using the so-called ‘traditional method’, as in Champagne, where the wine undergoes a second fermentation with the yeast in bottle. This good value example has an almost wild feel to it, offering creamy scents of orange peel with slightly funky hints of earth and stone fruits. Round, full-bodied and pithy, it's full of spice, orange and peach flavours, accompanied by noticeably large bubbles. Available from 30 November.
