Bodegas Ramón Bilbao, Mirto, Rioja, Spain, 2015

Ramón Bilbao has only produced 11 vintages of Mirto since its first release in 1999. An international style, with a forthright spicy nose, underscored with black fruit. Deep, spicy palate with black fruit and damsons, supported by fine tannins, with a long, spicy finish. Drinking well now but will certainly keep, as evidenced by a recent tasting of 2004 Mirto.
