A distinctly modern twist from one of the founding fathers, a powerful blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano, aged in part-new French oak for 18 months and thereafter benefiting from bottle age, which has tempered an almost foursquare precocity. The blue-fruit character is still singing, however, and have been joined, harmoniously, by eucalyptus, saddle leather and a hint of liquorice. If this sounds too implausible, best try it, preferably at the dinner table.
