This distinctive and accomplished white is made from 60-year-old Garnatxa Blanca vines, aged for eight months in new 400-litre French oak barrels. Interesting nose: preserved lemon, herbal cough drops, grapefruit, floral and nutty aromas. The palate is well-balanced and characterful; herbaceous, with zesty citrus – ripe grapefruit and lemon pith. Layers of flavour – nutty, creamy, mineral – with a silky fatness to the texture that’s countered by laser-sharp acidity. A menthol/Band Aid hint on the long, long finish, plus lemon curd and freshly sliced lemon. Memorable.
