Made by the innovative Roqueta family, from 50- to 70-year-old vines, this is a blend of 85% Garnacha and Garnacha Peluda, with 15% Samsó (the local name for Carignan). Aged for 12 months in 300-litre European oak barrels and concrete eggs, it kicks off with spicy, brambly, black fruit aromas, plus a touch of baked earth. The palate is showing nice evolution with savoury hints and stewed black fruits, but plenty of freshness. Plums, spice, red berries. Harmonious, with well-integrated tannins.
