New to the Tesco range is this English Blanc de Blanc from Balfour, who also makes the Tesco own-label English sparkling. Subtle aromas but notably distinguished, with clear-cut pear, crab apple, hedgerow blossom and bread dough aromas. Good concentration and immaculate length, with spice and vanilla lending complexity. The acidity is high, but refreshing, and there's a creamy note to the long finish. Really very accomplished. It's £4 more than the Tesco own-label, and made by the same winery, but this is definitely the bottle I'd go for; lots more complexity and enjoyment.
