Gusbourne Estate, Guinevere Chardonnay, Kent, England, United Kingdom 2021

The 2021 vintage of the Guinevere Chardonnay was source from the estate's Boot Hill Vineyard in Kent. Pressed whole bunch and fermented in barriques before ageing for 10 months in French oak (20% new). A savoury, spiced nose reveals notes of butter and golden apple. There is great salinity and freshness on the palate, with lemon curd and more ripe apple fruits. Concentrated and poised, leading to additional layers of roasted hazelnuts towards the long finish.
