Sourced from Farrow Ranch, a site in the soon-to-be-designated Pocket Peak AVA, this small-production Sauvignon Blanc comes from older vines planted in volcanic soils in the 1980s. Aperture acquired the ranch in 2021 and began replanting 17 acres in 2023. The 2022 vintage was picked early and, for the first time, fermented entirely in barrel, then aged for 16 months in oak, followed by 3 months in stainless steel to reduce oxygen exposure before bottling - a move the winemaking team uses to “tighten up” the wine. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc with a clean and linear palate that retains notable concentration and texture from extended time in barrel. Tart citrus notes, like loquat, are layered with sour green apples, and delicately sweet white florals, offering a zippy and refreshing expression of the variety. Just 190 cases were made.
