A bit of an outlier, reflecting the 2017 vintage’s distinctive markers. Dark fruit dusted with an exotic red-spice character – cinnamon and redwood bark. An intriguing interplay of sweet, sour and savoury – almost tropical as cherry and blackberry emerge on the palate. With air, dark loamy earth notes unfurl and the tannins take on a cocoa-powder texture. The fruit is lush, creamy and nicely concentrated, the finish carrying a mineral note. This is coming together, showing less angularity and more polish. An engaging, thought-provoking expression.
