A vineyard selection of Syrah sourced from Kobler Vineyard in Green Valley, Betsy in Knights Valley, Front Porch Farm in the Russian River Valley, and Donelan’s Obsidian Estate in Knights Valley. Naturally fermented with 70% whole clusters and aged for 21 months, the 2023 vintage benefits from the addition of wooden tank and concrete fermentations. The wine is notably ethereal this year, offering lifted violet and red cherry aromatics alongside sweet spice accents. Fine-grained tannins lend elegance and structure, while an intricate salinity and saline-driven acidity bring freshness and energy. There is an underlying unctuousness that borders on gulpability, with lingering rose petal nuances carrying through the finish.
