The 2023 Viognier comes from a one-acre plot planted in 1998 at Valenti Ranch, a vineyard located in both the Anderson Valley and Mendocino Ridge appellations. Only six miles from the ocean, it produces wines with a distinctive coastal minerality. As a result, this Viognier is lean, light, citrusy, and quite refreshing. Lively notes of orange, grapefruit zest, and hints of nectarines and apricots are complemented by a touch of beeswax, which adds a bit of textured mouthfeel—but nothing too heavy compared to other domestic Viogniers.
