This blend of 61% Viognier, 21% Grenache Blanc, and 18% Roussanne is sourced entirely from Goldbud Vineyard and Shake Ridge Vineyard in the Sierra Foothills. A portion of the wine was fermented and aged in a concrete egg and aged on the lees, while the Roussanne and Grenache Blanc were fermented and aged in neutral French oak for 17 months. Absolutely lovely aromatics of pure stone fruit and orchard fruit mingle with white flowers, all coming together seamlessly on the medium-bodied palate. There’s a creamy mid-palate core with real generosity and depth of flavour that builds and builds, carried by a saline edge of acid tension and culminating in a long, persistent finish. Just downright delicious.
