Rewa Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The flagship estate, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the 7.3-hectare Rewa estate, owned by the Singh family in eastern Coombsville, is aged 20 months in roughly 65% new French oak. By Celia Welch’s own account, this is one of the bigger, bolder wines in her portfolio, yet in the glass, it remains beautifully balanced, with fine-grained tannins that build toward a long, full-bodied finish. Rich notes of cola, black cherry, cumin, and dusty minerals emerge first on the nose and carry through seamlessly on the palate, extending into a lengthy finish. Welch, renowned as the winemaker behind Scarecrow, has been making this wine since 2015, with vineyard management by Mike Wolf.
