This comes from the KW Ranch, a vineyard that sits right in the heart of the SLH appellation, just north of Garys', tucked in a bit among the foothills. This wine is composed of 50% 667 and 50% Pommard, and it's made with 10% whole cluster. It sees 37% new French oak for 10 months, with plenty of 500L puncheons. It’s so savoury through and through, with soaring white pepper spices that bring out the elegance of this wine, and a nice spiced elegance owing to that whole-cluster. The fruit pops on the palate with piquant blood orange and taut pomegranate, wild lavender, bay and black sage, the markers of the SLH garrigue, all create harmony with the fruited intensity.
