Wines from this cool, wet vintage were widely panned, but many Cabernets are actually lovely. Lighter-styled and less concentrated, yes, but also lower in alcohol and very elegant, as Solo is here. 

Winemaker Jon Emmerich used in-field optical berry sorting to obtain only the best quality fruit and shortened maceration to 17 days, with only 17 months of barrel ageing. What stand out are the aromas of violets and liquorice, the refreshing red fruit flavours with mineral notes, and the long finish.
