Tor, Hyde Vineyard Cuvée Susan Chardonnay, Los Carneros, Napa Valley, California, USA 2024

In 2024, the wine shows a richer, deeper fruit profile than 2023, offering familiar notes of lemon, lemon curd, and candied ginger, layered with decadent toasty croissant nuances, salted lemon peel, and a lush, silky core, making for an effortlessly easy-drinking Chardonnay. Old Wente Clone Chardonnay from the famed Hyde Vineyard in Carneros is blended here with Calera Clone, first introduced into the cuvée in 2019. The wine is native-yeast fermented, barrel-fermented, undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation, and is aged for 15 months in high-quality French oak, 50% new. Winemaker Jeff Ames notes that the proportion of Calera Clone in the blend continues to increase.
