Typhone's ‘Axius’ is another project by winemaker Kevin Morrisey, formerly of Ehlers Estate. While Paso Robles is renowned for its powerhouse, inky-dark reds, Morrisey takes the opposite approach here. This medium-bodied and vibrant wine has elegant red-berry tones and hints of white pepper and sandalwood. Broad-shouldered tannins provide power and grip without overwhelming, allowing the fruit character to shine and the crisp acidity to flourish through a delightful, slightly spicy finish.
