The Larkmead Vineyards wine collection is now helmed by former Screaming Eagle Cellar Master Avery Heelan, who joined the winery in 2019, working alongside Dan Petroski. She assumed full responsibilities with the 2021 vintage. The 2021 Lillie is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, aged 9 months, in 47% new French oak. Heelan has produced a lovely white with a beautiful richness of flavours. Leading with almonds, apricot skin, white peach, and wet river stones with a hint of candied ginger and dusty herbs. Attractive and textured, with upfront tangy, zesty acidity balanced by a creamy mid-palate and tart, pithy lime resolving with pops of honeycomb and potpourri of Hawaiian Plumeria, Jasmine and peach blossoms. A pleasure-packed white.
