The GG Riesling from Appassionata is a project by Erni Loosen and Oregon winemaker Timothy Malone. Although labelled as a GG, this wine offers a texture not typically found in the German Grosses Gewaches from which it gets its name. The aromatics are full, with petrol notes, crushed slate, and Meyer lemon pulp. The palate is concentrated and intense, with lemon oil and concentrated candied ginger. This evocative Riesling shows that Oregon's Willamette Valley is no one-trick pony.
