This Demeter-certified Chardonnay is produced from grapes grown on the eastern edge of the Van Duzer Corridor AVA. The fruit is gently crushed, and the must is run into neutral casks for fermentation on native yeasts, followed by aging for 19 months. The wine has a lovely purity of citrus and gooseberry fruit with a minerality that shines and is not obscured by aromas from the cask aging. A slightly smoky reductive edge gives the wine an attractive vibrancy, yet there is also an easy breadth and depth to the wine that lends volume without any heaviness.
