This is a nearly 50/50 blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the two varieties complement one another impressively on this estate’s Red Mountain site. There’s some old-vine material at play here on the estate once known as Tapteil, planted in the mid-1980s. Aromas of dried desert sage, wild lavender and a mineral streak of graphite across the aromatic profile. The palate is a balance between Cabernet Franc’s savoury complexity and the sapid-driven fruits of Cabernet Sauvignon, a brilliantly harmonious wine that will only improve over the next 5-8 years.
