Maria José Huertas Vega grew up in Zamora, Spain, and studied agricultural engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She is currently the head of wine at NH Hotels Spain and head sommelier at La Terraza del Casino, the rooftop two-star Michelin restaurant led by chef Paco Roncero at the Casino de Madrid.
