There were five judges for the Decanter Retailer Awards 2015, all wine experts but all with different kinds of experience. See them here:
Peter Richards MW is chair of the Decanter Retailer Awards. He is a wine writer and a broadcaster and was also regional chair for Chile the Decanter World Wine Awards 2015. He wrote the book Wines of Chile.
Christelle Guibert is Decanter’s tastings director. She has worked in wine for more than 20 years.
Allan Cheesman is a 40-year veteran of the UK wine industry and the former wine director of Sainsbury’s. He is now a consultant and non-executive director.
Stephen Brook is a Decanter contributing editor. He has won multiple awards as an author and wine writer.
Matt Walls is a wine writer, author and Decanter contributor, with aparticular interest in the Rhone. He is also editor of the London Wine Guide app.

Chris Mercer is a Bristol-based freelance editor and journalist who spent nearly four years as digital editor of Decanter.com, having previously been Decanter’s news editor across online and print.
He has written about, and reported on, the wine and food sectors for more than 10 years for both consumer and trade media.
Chris first became interested in the wine world while living in Languedoc-Roussillon after completing a journalism Masters in the UK. These days, his love of wine commonly tests his budgeting skills.
Beyond wine, Chris also has an MSc in food policy and has a particular interest in sustainability issues. He has also been a food judge at the UK’s Great Taste Awards.
