Waitrose, No1 Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, 2019

The fruit for this fleshy, unoaked Mendoza Malbec comes from 20-year-old vines in Vista Flores in the Uco Valley, in the Andes foothills, at 1,100 metres above sea level. It's a very dark ruby/purple in the glass, and fragrant with aromas of juicy black plums. Bold but soft, this would be a dream match for steak or grilled meats.
