If you're after a full-bodied and fruit-forward New World red, this is guaranteed to please – and even more so at the offer price. It's a blend of grapes from three different estates, all at very high altitudes in the rugged and mountainous Calchaquí Valley. The wine is aged for 15 months in French oak and a further six in bottle. In the glass it's inky, velvety and smooth, with soft, dark, plummy fruit and fruitcake spice. Slips down dangerously easily.
