Teran has been grown in Croatia's Istria peninsula for centuries and is the most commonly found red grape in the region. It's a late-picked variety that produces deeply coloured wines with good acidity, and moderate alcohol. The Arman family has been making wine in the area since 1850. This fairly robust 2017 release has plump forest fruit, almost bitter cherry flavours, some subtle oak, and good acidity. It's lively and fresh, and reminiscent in style of some northern Italian reds.
