The small cooperative Cave de Hunawihr, established in 1956, owns almost half of the prime Rosacker vineyard, which lies between Ribeauville and Riquewihr. Officially this wine is medium dry, with 10g/L residual sugar acting to balance out the searing acidity that you can find in Alsace Riesling. But it tastes barely off-dry, with juicy and firm stone fruit fragrance and flavours, florality, and a limey citrus twist. There's also a minerality at its core that will see it age well for another five years at least.
