This terrific southern Rhône red was made by the talented owner and winemaker of Château Ste Cosme, Louis Barruol. 2016 was a fantastic vintage in the region, and this wine is full of appeal, bursting with spicy red fruits and yes, a definite note of fig, warm, with structure and depth of flavour. It's 15% alcohol but not out of balance, and you can't help but be seduced by the generosity of aroma and flavour. Would be a delicious match for roast lamb or beef. Yum.
