This will be the wine I drink with my Christmas Day turkey this year, I've decided. It's pretty potent at 14.5% alcohol, but perfectly balanced and utterly delicious. Made by Jean-Louis Chave in the great 2015 vintage, it glints lemon gold in the glass, hinting at the full body and complexity to come. Rich, oily and fat, there is so much going on on the nose and palate, white flowers, spice, ripe peachy stone fruit, warm lemon citrus and a nutty savouriness and honeyed generosity from the bottle age. This is already displaying lovely tertiary complexity, with more to come. Available from 15 November.
