Weingut Zilliken, Saarburger Rausch Riesling Spätlese, Mosel, Germany 2009

This is a must-buy for lovers of German Riesling – it's come straight from the producer's cellar and it's drinking beautifully. The 2009 vintage was a ripe one, but this has incredible balance. Green gold in colour, it's gorgeously expressive, with oily fleshy peach notes on the nose and palate, and a definite creaminess despite there being no perceptible oak. 88g/L residual sugar. There is only a tiny amount of this available so snap it up.
