Apostolos Thymiopoulos received Decanter's Rising Star Award in 2022, and is among the winemaking talents helping to propel Greek wine to new heights. His Atma red is a great introduction to the Xinomavro red grape, a must-try for lovers of Nebbiolo or Pinot Noir. This unoaked, fairly straightforward expression isn't too intense, but displays the typical elegant red fruits of Xinomavro, plus a hint of tomato leaf and thyme. Fresh, chewy and with great acidity. It may just become your new go-to summer red grape.
