Château Dereszla, Amethyst Prémium Furmint, Tokaji, Hungary 2022

This dry Tokaji is floral and peachy with some apple, grapefruit and earthy notes. In the mouth it combines ripe nectarine with a vegetal and tea character which lends a savoury edge.

One of two Tokaji wines in the Spring Wine Tour, this one is made from the Furmint grape by well-respected estate Château Dereszla. There's a touch of residual sugar, but don't let that put you off – it's in perfect balance, enhancing the juicy and ripe orchard fruit flavours: apples and pears. Rounded and harmonious, with a great depth of flavour.
