This single-vineyard wine from Controguerra, at the foothills of the mountains in Teramo, close to the coast, is first vinified in stainless steel, before ageing in new French oak barriques then in bottle. Savoury and earthy with a depth of black fruit aromas, it's dense and tannic in the mouth yet with that signature Montepulciano softness. Violet-infused black fruits accompany tobacco and spice, leading to a long and aromatic finish.
