Lidl, Lebollé Pinot Noir Spumante Rosé Extra Dry, Lombardy, Italy 2021

Don't be fooled by Extra Dry on the label here – in sparkling wine terms this means you're looking at between 12g/L and 17g/L residual sugar in the wine, more than your typical Prosecco. It's in balance though, so don't be put off, unless you prefer your sparkling wine bone dry. Made 100% from Pinot Noir, It's a pretty pale rose colour, fairly muted on the nose, but with more interest when you take a sip. Lively red berry fruit character and some rose florality make it a pleasant if simple summer sipping fizz.
