A portion of the Cortese grapes for this Piedmontese white wine were late-picked, so although it's crisp and bone-dry, there's also an attractive richness and weight to the wine. The wine spends two months on lees before blending, and then part of the blend is barrel fermented. You'll find fresh peach fruit and some green apple, and then a hint of almond on the finish. If you usually reach for Italian Pinot Grigio, try this instead – far more interesting than most of those on the supermarket shelves.
